Summer is here and I’m bringing in the tanks… Tank Tops that is! 😁

I love wearing tank tops. They flatter the body, they can be worn casually or even sporty, depending on how you dress it.

This Modern Summer U Tank Top’s name comes from the construction itself! Everything starts and ends with a “U” foundation and it works up great! This is currently one of my favs!

DESIGN INSPIRATION

brown crochet U tank top

I wanted to create a top that is modern yet simple and unique. I love how the front slit opens up and creates an elegant look yet still casual. And because I am using these beautiful Coboo bamboo cotton yarns from Annie’s, they are the perfect touch to a soft and silky finish.

And because it’s summer, I wanted to show you that you can indeed crochet a summer tank top that offers drape and lightness. The perfect summer attire for any occasion.

This tank top pairs so well with almost anything. Jeans, shorts, and it even works so well for that zoom/work attire! Am I right?!

  1. Hi,

I am making this awesome top in a small, but the underarm section seams to be different when watching the video vs the written pattern.

The top of the U has 12 stitches above the stitch markers on both sides + 16 sts for the straps (total 28). If the underarm section starts 26 st down, it leaves 2 sts between underarm SM & increase SM. In the video, it looks like you have more than 2.

If there really are only 2 sts between them, the first Dc2tog decrease leave 1 st between the SMs on that side. What am I missing?

    Thanks, Lynn

    1. Hi Lynn, you shouldn’t have 2sts remaining bcoz you would have been increasing the middle U section for a few rows. If you’re still unsure, do drop me an email at [email protected] with a picture of work and we can troubleshoot it from there. Thx

      1. Hi Lynn, Im sorry to hear that you’re having the same trouble as well. If you’d like, you could email me a picture of your work for me to have a look at and we can figure it out from there. Thanks.
